Hebrews 12:3

picture from www.renewedstrength.org

This verse spoke to me when I needed it most. After trying to help a dear friend and have it majorly backfire I was feeling greatly defeated and weary. At church the next day though I got exactly what I needed! Refilled with God's love, encouragement and grace.

Hebrews 12:3 is a great encouragement when you feel like giving up or feel just plain run down by life in general or a situation you're going through. Highlight it in your Bible, post it on your fridge, memorize it, whatever will help you to be reminded that Jesus went through all kinds of torture for our sins. No matter what we need to turn to Him for renewed strength and perseverance.

Do You Have it All Together?

I've been told many times by friends and family that I look like I have it all together. It couldn't be farther from the truth! Yesterday morning a friend at church told me we come to church and I always look calm and happy. It made me laugh! I told her I'm happy to be there at church but I definitely do not have it all together. So here's your encouragement for today.

Elizabeth at Yes They're All Ours posted a video about Sunday Mornings and it fits me to a tee. Even the son walking into church without shoes! We have done that more than once. If you think all the other families around you at church this Sunday morning is cool, calm and collected every week, they may be facing the same chaos you are! Click the link and watch the video. You'll feel better about your crazy morning before church.

This is the Stuff

I want to share with you my favorite song by Francesca Batistelli. This is the song that when it comes on I turn it up and sing away. It talks about all the little things in life that drive us crazy but we need to remember that God uses all these things for our good. Listen and remember that God uses our crazy lives to teach us patience, perseverance, kindness or a variety of other character traits to make us rely on Him and become more like Him.

A Full Quiver

This one is for those of us who have more than the "normal" or "acceptable" number of children. You receive comments in the checkout line at the grocery store, at the park or even at church from friends, family or complete strangers who think it's their business to comment on the number of children you have.

I want to encourage you today with these verses! The world sees children as a hassle and a burden but God's word tells us otherwise! So next time you are bombarded with some silly comment about how full your quiver is let it roll off your back and remember these verses. Life as a mom isn't always easy, it can get quite crazy but if you're like me you LOVE your crazy life!

Children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children of one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. Psalm 127:3-5

He will give you the desires of your heart

I first read these verses at the end of the movie Flywheel. They have become some of my favorite verses. Trust Him and commit your life to God and he will give bless you in ways you hadn't thought of yourself. That  doesn't mean that things will always be easy because He still wants us to learn from experiences in life but trust in Him only and "he will give you the desires of your heart"

This summer for example, we were struggling to pay the rent on our tiny town home apartment while awaiting the arrival of Allison. I was preparing myself for the worst case scenario when all of a sudden things changed. We got help with our rent and were able to move out of that tiny apartment and into an entire HOUSE! The same day we got the keys to our new rental house my husband got a job. Five days later Allison arrived. All things that were wonderful and amazing and I'd never imagined we would have so many blessings come at one time. We trusted in Him and we were blessed greatly for that. You can read about our move and the birth story of Allison in my summer update posts.

Rejoice!

Psalm 118 is a great reminder to make the most of each day God has given. No matter what He has in store for you today remember to REJOICE and PRAISE HIM for each day!

So often I find myself complaining about the little things of my day, messes kids make, doing dishes or just the noise of so many kids in the house. Remembering to rejoice and thank God for all the blessings in my life is vital to a good attitude toward my day. What keeps you from rejoicing each day?

31 Days of Encouragment

It's October already! I've decided to do something fun and exciting for this October. I'm joining in with The Nesting Place's 31 days challenge. It took me almost a month just to decide what my 31 posts would be about. After my post a few days ago about 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 and a lot of prayer I finally realized what I wanted to do.

There are so many encouraging verses of the Bible that I want to share some of them with you! So, for each day in October I'll share a verse with you and I pray that you find encouragement you need to get through your day with God's words and promises fresh in your mind.Whether it be a crazy day with your little ones, a stressful day at work or whatever situation life may throw at you, God's word is always true and we can find so much encouragement through His gift to us, the Bible. Join me on this journey of 31 days of encouragement!
