I chose the word progress because that's exactly what I want to do! Make progress in several areas of my life. I will never be perfect but I can work toward my goals each day and make progress toward a better me. After reading a post from Only a Breath on making and setting goals, have chosen several areas and several goals for each area. After thinking about my goals I have picked something I can start doing right away to work on that goal. Each month I will update with how things are going.
Family/Marriage
1. Family Bible time
2. Pray with my husband daily
3. Spend more one on one time with each of my children
4. Date nights with my husband
5.. Use more encouraging words with my husband and children
In January I will have daily Bible time with my kids.
Health
1. Track my calories
2. Cut out the sugar
3. Get into an exercise routine and stick to it.
4. Cut out processed foods
In January I will use a book called Sugar Detox to get the sugar out of my diet and beat the addiction to it.
Finances
1. Get savings and checking accounts opened.
2. Take the 52 week savings challenge
3. Keep up on bills and pay on time
4. Tithe
January's action is to get accounts opened.
Spiritual
1. Read Bible daily
2. Spend time with the Lord before the children get up
3. Start and complete Bible studies with others
4, Spread the gospel
In January I will be starting an online Bible study through Proverbs 31.
Blog
1. Continue to post regularly
2. Prayerfully think about new ways to encourage and uplift readers
3. Connect with other bloggers to learn more and encourage them
4. Interact more with readers through posts and social media.
January goal is to post at least twice a week.
Home
1. Spend less time online
2. Keep up on household chores
3. Be consistent with children to get chores accomplished
This month I will setup a home management folder/binder and find a plan that works for me.
I was considering doing the 52 Week Savings Challenge, but I don't think I'm quite there yet. I automated a set amount I felt could afford. I hope this goes a long way in making a dent in my debt. Anyways, I look forward to reading about your journey of PROGRESS in 2014. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks and happy new year to you! I really want to do the 52 week challenge. Will have to convince my hubby of it though. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteMy one word is "efficiency," It's not as romantic a word as I usually choose, but I really want to focus on doing everything WELL this year without squandering time or money. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great goal! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteI wish you all the best as you work towards your goals this year. Interestingly enough, my husband and I filled out a yearly goal sheet together last night. It included several of the things you posted, including spending more time in the Bible and tithing more.
